Ride On Flex: On Demand Service Comes to Rockville and Glenmont/Wheaton
On June 26, Montgomery County Department of Transportation introduced a new on-demand service called Ride On Flex. This innovative new transit service uses a mobile app to allow residents to book trips within two zones, one in Rockville and the other in Glenmont/Wheaton.

Ride On Flex has no fixed schedules. Flex comes when you book a ride using the Ride On Flex app. The buses are wheelchair accessible, offer free Wi-Fi and provide corner to corner service, but you must book your ride in order to board.

Riding the Flex is easy. Just download the Ride On Flex app to your smartphone, select your pickup and drop off locations within the zone, and go to the pick-up location. Standard Ride On fares apply. Be sure to load fare on your SmarTrip card before boarding. Hours of operation in Rockville are 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. In Glenmont/ Wheaton hours of operation are 6:00 am to 9:00 am and 3:30 pm to 7:00 pm. For more details, visit RideOnFlex.com or call 311.
