Join us for a screening of Aphasia, starring Carl McIntyre, a film that explores the communication impact of Aphasia.  Following the film, Darlene S. Williamson, M.A., CCC-SLP, founder and executive director of the Stroke Comeback Center and president of the National Aphasia Association will join Dr. Anthony Pellicane, director of rehabilitation services, to talk more about living with aphasia and rehabilitation and other services available.

Montgomery County Seeks Your Input to Balance the Budget 
The Montgomery County Office of Management and Budget (OMB) invites you to participate in an interactive budget forum using “Balancing Act” – a new, online tool designed to increase public engagement during the FY20 budget process.

Free parking will be available at the: 
Council Office Building parking garage (Fleet Street & Monroe Street entrances); Council Office Building Visitor parking garage (E. Jefferson Street); Juror Parking Lot (301 E. Jefferson Street); and Executive Office Building parking garage (G2-level only).  

Montgomery County will provide sign language interpreters and other auxiliary aids or services upon request -- with as much advance notice as possible, preferably at least three (3) business days before the event. Taking these steps will allow sufficient time to best meet your needs.

Need a helping hand to get to an appointment or enjoy some time away from home?  There are times when travelling alone just isn’t safe. Escorted transportation is available for people who qualify based on income and need.   

Jewish Council for the Aging (JCA) can arrange escorted transportation for adults in the County who cannot safely travel alone. Travel can be for virtually any purpose—not just medical appointments! Customers contribute to the cost of the service based on their income. Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services funds this program. Job Search Training Program for those who are 50+ 
Are you over age 50 and frustrated by your job search?  JCA’s Career Gateway Program can help you hone your resume, polish your networking and interviewing skills, use Internet job search resources more effectively, and turn your age and experience to your advantage.  Each session of the Career Gateway features 30 hours of small-group classroom instruction over five days, comprehensive take-home materials, practical exercises, and a long-term mentor – all for only $75!  Sessions run from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.  Optional employment-related tech training available, as well.
