Maryland Census 2020 Produces a New Flyer for Businesses
Census data, including income levels, household size, and homeownership, is used to help businesses in Maryland understand their potential customer base, helps select an ideal location, and assists with strategies like consumer pricing. A new flyer is now available that provides business owners and leaders with necessary tools. Make sure to download this flyer and use at your census events.

U.S. Census Bureau Releases 2020 Census Response Rate Challenge Toolkit
The U.S. Census Bureau has released a downloadable toolkit geared toward helping local elected officials and community leaders plan a Response Rate Challenge for the 2020 Census. The new toolkit encourages leaders in every town, city and state to challenge their communities to improve upon their 2010 Census response rates in the upcoming national census.

Maryland Department of Planning Awards More than $332,000 to Municipalities Across Maryland for Census Outreach Funding
32 Municipalities to Receive Funding for Census Outreach Activities in Traditional Hard-to-Count Areas
(January 24, 2020) Baltimore, MD – The Maryland Department of Planning (Planning) today announced that 32 municipalities have been awarded funding to support the accurate counting of the state and its local jurisdictions for the 2020 Census.

Women's Home Preservation Fund Commemorates Martin Luther King Jr. Day
In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, January 20, the Women's Home Preservation Fund hosted a fun family celebration at Lexington Market in collaboration with African dance groups, local activists, and Lexington Market Inc. It was 2020 Census-themed event which gave visitors the opportunity to learn about why they should get counted.
Funding for Nutrition Benefits Programs Informed by Census Statistics
We all know fresh fruits and vegetables are key to good health. Yet many low-income neighborhoods have limited access to fresh produce. That’s why programs such as the federally funded Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the National School Lunch Program are vital to the health of communities. The 2020 Census will help officials plan for SNAP and other federal nutrition programs for the next 10 years.

Census Bureau Releases New Content on 2020Census.gov in 59 Languages
The U.S. Census Bureau recently launched an update to 2020census.gov that includes content in 59 languages, including language assistance guides and videos that explain how to complete the 2020 Census questionnaire online, by phone or by mail when it becomes available in mid-March. People can respond to the census online and by phone in 13 languages. The expansive site includes in-depth information in both English and Spanish.

U.S. Census Bureau Unveils 2020 Census Advertising Campaigns
On the eve of the nation’s once-in-a-decade headcount of every person in the country, the U.S. Census Bureau is unveiling an unprecedented $500 million public education and outreach campaign featuring more than 1,000 advertisements.
