WalkWicomico Puts Planning on its Feet
 Bipedalism (the ability to walk on two feet) is a core, if not the core, human characteristic. It allowed us to carry supplies and loved ones, and honed our hunting abilities. Millenia of community construction unfolded along the path of our feet, and this influence persists. Walkability is a common term in a planner’s vocabulary, an oft-cited goal in comprehensive plans, and a physical aspect of our communities attracting local families and tourists to Maryland’s streamside paths and main streets. We are comfortable addressing walkability objectives using design, land use, and infrastructure.

Maryland Department of Transportation - Maryland Commuter Program Helps Businesses Save Money by Easing Employee Travel

Maryland commuters spend an average of 30 minutes sitting in traffic traveling to and from work – resulting in diminished productivity, extreme frustration, and lost time. To mitigate traffic congestion and support the mobility, health and wealth of its community, environment, and business partners, the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) has launched Commuter Choice Maryland.

Maryland Association of Counties - Solar Siting Preemption Case Now Precedent
|
The Maryland Court of Special Appeals has now released a precedent-setting opinion, Board of County Commissioners of Washington County v. Perennial Solar, LLC, which holds that the state can preempt local zoning when granting approval for the siting of a large scale solar project.
