MDA LAUNCHES AGROFORESTRY EDUCATION CAMPAIGN MDA has launched a new public awareness campaign to educate farmers about the benefits of planting trees. The campaign highlights the department’s comprehensive range of tree-planting incentives, which support various soil health and agroforestry practices. These practices combine farming and forestry to create healthier conditions for people, animals, and crops.

NUTRIENT MANAGEMENT AIRs DUE MARCH 1 MDA reminds farmers that Annual Implementation Reports (AIRs) for 2024 nutrient applications are due by March 1. Regulated farmers can file their AIRs electronically through Maryland OneStop. A mail-in option is also available for those who prefer paper reports. Paper reporting forms were mailed to all regulated farmers in mid-January and are available for download on the department’s website.

Nutrient Management Specialists from the University of Maryland Extension will be on hand to assist you in updating your nutrient management plan at various locations across Maryland on multiple dates beginning February 10.
