Maryland Horse Industry partners will once again host 11 days of free equine educational and entertainment events during the August 24 – September 4, 2017, at the Maryland State Fair near the Grandstand.

During the 11-days of the fair, the tented Horseland, located between the Carnival Kiddie Land and the Grandstand, will feature a variety of equine demonstrations, children’s activities, and a pony and donkeys. Horse Discovery Center's will be there and you can find out how YOU can have horses in your life. Youth visitors can make stick horses and be able to race them on a kiddie-size racetrack as well as jump over a small obstacle course. In addition, an Equicizer will be available for folks to get the feel of riding a horse.
Daily demonstrations in the Horsland will include: horseshoeing, horse braiding, grooming and tacking and more. Maryland’s top horse associations will feature interactive booths featuring topics such as therapeutic riding activities, racing, breeding and raising horses, horse rescues, military riding, equine studies, search and rescue, rodeo and more. MHIB's Horse Discovery Centers will be there daily!
Visitors to Horseland can also join tours of the racetrack given by horse industry leaders and jockeys during live race days, to explore the colorful activities taking place and to join handicapping sessions on how to pick a winner.
