Falls Prevention Lunch & Learn
The City will offer a FREE falls prevention workshop for older adults and caregivers on September 18 from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at the City Building. Lunch will be provided! Contact (301) 985-5000 or seniors@hyattsville.org to register.

Age-Friendly Ecosystem Summit
Join the City of Hyattsville and other local partners at the 3rd Annual Age-Friendly Ecosystem Summit, hosted by the George Washington University’s Center for Aging, Health, and Humanities. The summit will consist of four virtual sessions from 1 - 3 p.m. on September 26 & 27 and October 3 & 4. Each session will discuss different themes like ageism, inclusivity, communications, and creativity. Learn more and register at nursing.gwu.edu/aging-events.

SeniorFit+ Classes!
Exercise your body and mind with our FREE SeniorFit+ seated exercises classes (formerly known as Ageless Grace) every Wednesday from 10 – 11 a.m. at the City Building, 4310 Gallatin St.! Register by emailing seniors@hyattsville.org or calling (301) 985-5000.

Senior Meal Programs
The Prince George’s County Senior Nutrition Program offers a meal delivery service to seniors aged 60+ who are unable to shop or prepare food for themselves. The hot meals are delivered to program participants five days a week. There is no income requirement. To learn more about the program, call (301) 265-8450 or visit hyattsville.org/meals.
Seniors or individuals with a disability that cannot prepare food on their own can also reach out to Meals on Wheels of College Park (MOWCP), which serves Hyattsville. For $5 per day and up to 5 times per week, they can deliver lunch, dinner, and breakfast for the next morning. Hyattsville residents that meet income requirements may qualify for free meals! If you are a Hyattsville resident in need of MOWCP services, please contact Meals on Wheels of College Park directly at (301) 927-2700.

Prince George’s County’s new Elderly Tax Credit Program!
Prince George’s County’s new Elderly Tax Credit Program provides adults 65+ up to a 20% credit of County property taxes, inclusive of Homeowners & Homestead Tax Credits, for up to 5 years. Apply by October 1 at princegeorgescountymd.gov/419/Residential. Paper applications are available Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the County’s Office of Finance, 1301 McCormick Drive, Ste 1100, Largo, MD.
