MLK Day of Service Celebrations!
Join our staff and partners for a day of service to celebrate and honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr!
On Monday, January 16, from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., community members are invited to a day filled with guest speakers, multicultural performances, and interactive community service workshops at the Latin American Youth Center at 2611 Buck Lodge Road, Adelphi, MD. Hyattsville seniors are invited to create original art pieces that reflect unjust policies on the national level on Monday, January 16, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., at the City Building, 4310 Gallatin Street. Space is limited, and registration is required; register by contacting community@hyattsville.org or calling (301) 985-5000.
Residents wishing to volunteer in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. are also invited to join us on Tuesday, January 17, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. to assist at the monthly fresh produce distribution at the Hyattsville First United Methodist Church, 6201 Belcrest Road. Fresh Produce Distribution
The City of Hyattsville and its partner Capital Area Food Bank are hosting a fresh produce distribution on Tuesday, January 17, starting at noon, at the First United Methodist Church of Hyattsville (6201 Belcrest Road). Sustainability Plan Prioritization Sessions
The City of Hyattsville is updating its 5-year sustainability plan, and we need your input! Share your thoughts on transportation, housing, public spaces, and more at our upcoming prioritization sessions on Tuesday, January 24 (in-person at the Hyattsville Branch Library) or on Wednesday, January 25 (virtual). Both sessions will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. You can review and comment on current ideas from your neighbors and sign up for a prioritization session at hellohyattsville.com.

Narcan Community Training
Learn how to recognize an opioid overdose and safely administer NARCAN, a life-saving drug used to reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. The City of Hyattsville is offering two NARCAN training sessions for community members on January 26 at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. at the Hyattsville City Building, 4310 Gallatin Street. Space is limited and registration is required.
