Review the new City Ward boundaries
The City of Hyattsville redraws the boundaries of its five Wards every 10 years following the taking of the U.S. Census. This ensures equitable representation for all residents on the City Council. This year Council established a volunteer Redistricting Commission to review available data, seek public input, and make recommendations on the new Ward boundaries. You can view their map iterations and the feedback received at hellohyattsville.com.
At the December 19 City Council meeting, Hyattsville’s Council voted to approve a new map, which will go into effect on February 6, 2023. If your home has been moved to a new Ward, you will receive a postcard in the mail in early January 2023.
Hyattsville’s Ward boundaries affect who represents you on Hyattsville’s City Council. They do not affect your school district boundaries or your County, State, or Federal government representatives.
