Dear Student,

Good news! If you are a high school senior that has submitted your 2017-2018 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the April 1, 2017 deadline and have been identified as potentially eligible to receive Guaranteed Access (GA) Grant for the 2017-2018 academic year, it is not too late to be considered for a 2017-2018 GA grant award.

Initial GA applicants for 2017-2018 have until July 1, 2017 to submit all requested documentation to the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC). Renewal GA students who are required to turn in documentation for final consideration of their renewal GA award for 2017-2018 have until August 31, 2017 to submit all required documentation to MHEC.

Documentation will not be accepted for consideration of the 2017-2018 GA grant if submitted after the above deadlines.

You may view your ‘To Do List’ using the Maryland College Aid Processing System (MDCAPS) in order to see the documents that you must submit to MHEC for further consideration of the GA grant. To view your 'To Do List' please visit https://mdcaps.mhec.state.md.us and log into your MDCAPS account.  If you do not have an account, you may create one by selecting the "Create a Student Login" option.

Please note that students requested to submit the 2015 Tax Return Transcript on their ToDo list, may submit a signed copy of the 2015 (1040, 1040A, or 1040EZ) federal tax return of those applicable in lieu of the Tax Return Transcript.  Also, students that have been requested to submit the “IRS Non-Tax Filer statement” on their ToDo list may submit a notarized statement indicating the non-tax filing status of those applicable in lieu of the IRS Non-Tax Filer Statement.
