October is National Co-op Month
Did you know that October is National Co-op Month? It is a time to recognize and celebrate cooperatives. A cooperative is an autonomous association of persons united voluntarily to meet their common economic, social, and cultural needs and aspirations through a jointly-owned and democratically controlled enterprise.
This year’s Co-op Month theme is “Co-ops: By the Community, For the Community,” which highlights the many ways co-ops are making an impact in their communities and around the world to ensure a better future for everyone. Greenbelt is home to seven cooperatives. Check them out!
