Message from Special Secretary Rhee
Celebrate Diversity
April is National Celebrate Diversity Month, a time to honor, recognize, and appreciate the diversity that surrounds us in all aspects of our lives. Cultural diversity plays an important role in economic growth. It spurs new ideas, strategic thinking, and innovation at both the macro and micro levels. Maryland has the largest number of minority and women-owned businesses in the nation, and is ranked second for emerging technologies and innovation; a clear sign that diversity is among our greatest economic strengths. This month, I encourage each of you to share some of the things that make you unique, and discover the things you have in common with others. We have a responsibility to work together as we embrace diversity and encourage all Americans to pursue their dreams.
Sincerely,
Jimmy Rhee Special Secretary

Maintain "Good Standing" Status
Is your business in "Good Standing" with the Maryland State Department of Assessments and Taxation? In order to maintain Good Standing status, your business must file the required annual reports and maintain compliance with all applicable Maryland laws. Failing to do so means your business may be deemed "Not in Good Standing" which can eventually lead to forfeiture. A forfeited entity may not legally conduct business in the State. Visit Maryland Business Express to learn more about restoring or maintaining Good Standing status.
