Preliminary Cause: Under Investigation - an unspecified failure within an electrical strip lighting or power strip can not be ruled out
Additional Information: A mother and her six-month old son were asleep in an upstairs bedroom when the fire broke out. The husband tried to make it up the stairs but was unsuccessful. The mother then dropped her son out of a second floor window to her husband before crawling through the flames to the staircase. The mother was transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Burn Center in Baltimore, while the son was transported to Nemours Children Hospital in Wilmington, DE. The husband was later taken to Union Hospital for evaluation. A total of six people were displaced and are being assisted by family members.
