Area of Origin: Chicken coop located at the rear of the home
Preliminary Cause: Accidental - due to heating pads within the chicken coop igniting straw/combustibles
Additional Information: The owners were not home at the time of the fire. Investigators credit the neighbor with quickly calling 911, and then releasing the chickens, as well as the quick response of the fire department and containing the fire to the chicken coop and the exterior of the home.
