Preliminary Cause: Accidental - due to electrical/mechanical failure of a treadmill
Additional Information: The owner was not home and was alerted to the fire by an alarm monitoring company. She returned home and upon her arrival, and opening the front door, she discovered the home was filling with heavy smoke. She called 911 to report the fire. A neighbor who assisted sustained minor injuries when he entered the home to located the owners dog. He was evaluated by EMS and refused transport. The dog later escaped unharmed. The fire was contained to the treadmill and immediate area, however the home sustained extensive soot and smoke damage. The owner is being assisted by family.
