Preliminary Cause: Under Investigation - Deputy State Fire Marshals can not rule out an unspecified electrical failure including a power surge in the area.
Additional Information: Extreme hoarding conditions were present within the home, which made it extremely difficult and dangerous for firefighters to extinguish the fire and Deputy State Fire Marshals to investigate the cause of the fire. It was confirmed two cats perished and it is believe it could be up to five, however due to the hoarding conditions, it could not be confirmed.
Another dwelling fire was reported on Valley Bottom Road, which was a short distance away.
