Preliminary Cause:  Electrical Device Failure

Additional Information:  The cause of the fire was an electrical failure of an improperly installed light of the front exterior wall of the home.  The occupants were alerted by the residential smoke detectors installed in the home.  The occupants exited the residence without injury.
