Preliminary Cause: Accidental- Result of a malfunction of the Aspire Cleito 120 Electronic Cigarette.
Additional Information: According to the victim, an electronic cigarette exploded as she was pulling it out of her purse causing the victim to immediately throw the electronic cigarette away from her personal area. The explosion caused her clothing to catch fire, but the victim was able to quickly discard the clothing with the assistance of her father. Subsequent to the incident, the victim was transported to Johns Hopkins Bay View Medical Center where she was treated and later released.
