Boonsboro Man Arrested for Arson Threats
WASHINGTON COUNTY - January 24, 2018 - A Deputy State Fire Marshal was requested by Maryland State Police who had been dispatched for a domestic dispute call at 7833 Sharpsburg Pike in Boonsboro at approximately 0930 hours for a threat of arson.
As a result of that call for service, it was determined that Brett Wayne Martin (5-7-1965) had made 4 threats to burn the structure at the same address. Three of the threats were made over a course of a few months and one was made at the time of this call. Witness statements were provided regarding the prior threats.
Mr. Martin is an occupant of this address. The owner of the property is Bucky Rees. Mr. Martin was transported to Washington County Central Booking without incident. He has been charged with 4 counts of Threat of Arson and is being held at the Washington County Detention Center without bond until his hearing on 1/25/2018.
