New tax credits for EVs in 2023
Are you ready for that new car smell in 2023? The federal Inflation Reduction Act enhances existing electric vehicle tax credits for consumers and creates a new 30% commercial EV tax credit to benefit businesses (up to $7,500 for smaller vehicles less than 14,000 pounds, and up to $40,000 for vehicles weighing more than 14,000 pounds). To sweeten the deal, Maryland also offers a one-time EV excise tax credit. Stay tuned here for more information on federal and state recharging station benefits.

Greening Your Business Program Recognized
The Maryland Green Registry's Greening Your Business program was recently recognized as a Champion of Maryland Manufacturing by the Regional Manufacturing Institute of Maryland. Thanks go to the following businesses for their participation and involvement in the program. Each received a sustainability assessment to help identify and prioritize energy, waste and water saving opportunities:

Member Spotlight
LifeMade Products, located in Belcamp, Maryland, has reduced its energy and water usage 40% by producing foam coolers using bio-based materials instead of petrochemicals. No wonder global production of bioplastics is growing at such a significant rate!
