Fall Trout Stocking Wrap Up
The fall 2025 Put and Take trout stocking season wrapped up this week. In total, crews stocked 15,700 brown, golden rainbow, and rainbow trout averaging one pound each into 29 waterbodies. View all stocked locations on the trout stocking website or map.
 Although flows in some streams were below average due to dry conditions, anglers were generally greeted with beautiful fall weather for trout fishing.
Now that stocking is complete, the work is not over for hatchery crews. The cycle of production never ceases. Recently hatched brown and rainbow trout fry have been transferred to indoor circular tanks to grow. Once large enough, they will be transferred to outdoor raceways where they will be cared for daily to meet the needs of the next season and beyond.
With improved water conditions during 2025, the production goal for the 2026 season is to increase by approximately 20%, helping us meet our trout management and stocking goals.
