Mountain Maryland Native Plant Festival is Saturday, May 10

New Germany State Park will host the 10th annual Mountain Maryland Native Plant Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 10.

A large variety of native plants and nature-themed artisan items will be available for sale (cash or check only). Educational programs and family-friendly outdoor activities at the festival will highlight native plants and biodiversity. Experts from local organizations will be available to answer questions on native plants and other conservation topics throughout the day.

New Germany State Park, the Friends of New Germany, and the Western Mountains Chapter of the Maryland Native Plant Society are co-sponsoring this free event. For more information, please call 301-895-5453 or visit the event website.

Unless otherwise noted, events are held rain or shine, free and fun for all ages; donations are always welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Dress for the weather/activity, wear sunscreen and insect repellent, bring plenty of water and snacks, and check for ticks.
