Furs, Feathers, and Skulls!

2-4 p.m. at the Lake House
Drop by the Lake House for this hands-on program, where Ranger Noah will be displaying a collection of furs, feathers, and skulls. Test your knowledge of local birds and mammals and learn about the unique traits that set these animals apart. This program is a "come-and-go" style display, so feel free to stop by at any point during the program hours.

Conifers and Tea Hike

Join Ranger Noah on this easy 1.5-mile hike and learn all about the different species of conifer trees that grow in the area. Afterwards, learn how to make tea out of the pine, spruce, and hemlock needles found on the hike.

Skiing By Candlelight
February 15
5-9 p.m. at the Lake House (weather dependent)
Enjoy this unique opportunity to ski at night, where the Turnpike Trail will be illuminated by luminaries! This self-guided program will run from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. If snow conditions are not suitable for skiing, the luminaries will still be lit for any adventurous hikers out for a night hike. Be sure to stop by the Lake House for s’mores and hot cocoa!

New Germany Book Club Meeting
February 16
10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Lake House
Join Ranger Noah for this month's Book Club meeting and share your thoughts on "The Sand County Almanac" by Aldo Leopold. The club meets once a month for coffee and snacks, while sharing insights and thoughts about a nature-themed book. Participants who attend six club meetings will receive a free night of camping. Please email noah.manges@maryland.gov to register.

Unless otherwise noted, events are held rain or shine, free and fun for all ages; donations are always welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Dress for the weather/activity, wear sunscreen and insect repellent, bring plenty of water and snacks, and check for ticks.
