Nemacolin's Path

11 a.m. at the Casselman River Bridge State Park Gazebo
In celebration of Native American Heritage Day, Ranger Julia will provide a 30-minute talk on the local history of westward travel through our region, highlighting the legacy of Chief Nemacolin. Dress comfortably for walking on natural surfaces and sitting outdoors. Pets are welcome on a leash.

Casselman River Bridge Tour
December 7
3 p.m. on the east side of Casselman River Bridge (Spruce Forest Artisan Village)
In partnership with "Christmas in the Village" at Spruce Forest Artisan Village, Ranger Noah will lead this 30-minute program about the history of Casselman River Bridge. Meet across from Fernwood Soap (200 Casselman Road), on the east side of the bridge.

Full Moon Hike

5:30 p.m. at the Lake House
Embrace the beauty of the forest under a full moon on this 1-mile hike with Ranger Noah. This "Cold Moon" will be the last full moon before the winter solstice. Please bring a flashlight or headlamp.

Annual Holiday Lights Hike

Explore the 1-mile Orchard Loop decorated by candlelight and holiday lights on this self-guided holiday light hike. Be sure to drop by the Lake House before or after your hike for complimentary s’mores and hot chocolate.

Join Ranger Hannah for a Christmas-themed trivia night and put your knowledge to the test! Prizes will be awarded to the winning individual or team. Complimentary s’mores will be provided.

New Germany Book Club Meeting
December 15
10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Lake House
Join Ranger Noah for this month's Book Club meeting and share your thoughts on "American Buffalo" by Steven Rinella. The club meets once a month for coffee and snacks, while sharing insights and thoughts about a nature-themed book. Participants who attend six club meetings will receive a free night of camping. Please email noah.manges@maryland.gov to register.
