December 20: 'Walk It Off' Wednesday
10 a.m. at the Dans Mountain Pool area (weather permitting)

Explore a new trail and experience the revitalizing effects of outdoor exercise on this challenging 4.5-mile hike with Ranger Noah. The hike will begin and end at the Daniel Cresap monument (across from Dans Mountain Pool).


Trailhead

January 1: Self-Guided First Day Hike 
8 a.m. - sunset at the Dans Mountain Pool area

Hike the new Lonacona Loop singletrack trail in the mixed hardwood forests of Allegany County's highest mountain! Expect to encounter rocky terrain, rugged hillsides, and 650 feet of elevation change along this moderately-challenging trail, creating the perfect start to your New Year's health, fitness, and recreation goals. Please sign in and pick up your "I hiked!" sticker at the trailhead by the Daniel Cresap Monument. No registration required.

Unless otherwise noted, events are held rain or shine, free and fun for all ages; donations are always welcome. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

Dress for the weather/activity, wear sunscreen and insect repellent, bring plenty of water and snacks, and check for ticks.
