Mountain Laurel

June 3: National Trails Day Hike - Blooms Before Noon
9 a.m. 

Join a ranger for a guided scavenger hunt along the Beaver Marsh Loop Trail. This two-mile hike will let you view the native fauna and flora, like the beautiful mountain laurel. Dogs on a leash are encouraged to join us! Day use fees apply ($3 per Maryland resident; $5 per out-of-state resident). Reservations are preferred but not required. Elk River Exploration

June 24: Elk River Exploration
9 a.m.

Explore the banks of the Turkey Point peninsula by paddling the Elk River. Along the way, learn to identify some of the animals that call this watery habitat home. Meet next to the boat launch facilities in the Rogues Harbor Area. Fee: $20 per canoe; $15 per single kayak. Or bring your own canoe or kayak for just $5 per person. Space is limited, so call

Elk Neck Nature Center

Nature Center Exploration

Tuesday-Thursday
Saturday
Sunday (holiday weekends only)

1- 4 p.m.

The Nature Center is open for exploration (unless otherwise posted). Learn more about the history of Elk Neck and about native plants and wildlife species found in the park. Visitors are welcome anytime during the designated time frame.

June's Nature Center Exploration theme is animals. Each week, activities will focus on a specific group within the animal kingdom. Join park staff as we explore these topics.

June 3: Birds
June 10: Fish
June 17: Reptiles and Amphibians
June 24: Mammals

Junior Rangers and Park Pals

The Junior Rangers and Park Pals programs are a fun way for youth to connect to the natural world around them through hands-on environmental education, recreational opportunities, crafts, and a conservation project. These programs will take place outdoors as much as possible, even in wet weather, so please dress accordingly.

Fee: $25 per child and $15 for each additional family member. Registration required.
Registration is open and ends two weeks prior to each session start date. Space is limited; call 410-287-5333 today!


Junior Rangers

Junior Rangers
The Junior Rangers program is designed for children ages 7-14. Junior Rangers will be split into two age groups and each session will meet the following dates:

Session 1: Ages 7-10
Wednesdays: July 5, 12, and 19
9:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Session 2: Ages 11-14
Thursdays: July 6, 13, and 20
9:30 - 11:30 a.m.


Park Pals

Park Pals
The Park Pals program is designed for children ages 3-6 and is aimed at getting each Park Pal acclimated to the outdoors and prepared for the Maryland Junior Rangers program. This program will be held once a week over three weeks. 

Wednesdays: August 2, 9, and 16
9:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Annual Pass Available for Purchase
$75 for Marylanders; $100 for out-of-state visitors
