Good Green: Homeowner's Guide to Managing Invasive Plants
Invasive plants, pests, and diseases threaten the resilience, survival, and value of Maryland’s forests. They are capable of halting regeneration and diminishing timber production, wildlife habitat quality, and ecosystem services. Maryland Forest Service provides guidance, training, and assistance for public agencies and private landowners to mitigate the impacts of these species on their forests.
Good Green is a Maryland Department of Natural Resources Forest Service initiative to protect native vegetation in our natural areas. The initiative was started as a Landscape Scale Restoration grant from the U.S. Forest Service. Learn more.

Crownsville Bald Eagle Rescue
In February, Wendy Foster, MET's Easement Monitoring Specialist, spotted a bald eagle outside our office building in Crownsville and called for assistance. The eagle's leg was wedged between two branches. This was a difficult rescue and not a common event for a bald eagle to get wedged like this. A number of responders worked together to rescue the bald eagle. Thanks to all those who aided in the rescue!
