Protecting Land Forever!

MET Completes New Easement in Dorchester County

MET extends thanks to the Watson family who protected their 245 acre farm in Dorchester County with a conservation easement. Together with the Eastern Shore Land Conservancy and the U.S. Navy’s REPI Program, MET worked to forever protect productive agricultural land, wetlands, and woodlands. The property provides travelers along the Harriet Tubman Scenic Byway with views of farmland and forest. This was the last conservation easement of 2021 and MET is pleased to add this important property to our portfolio of protected lands.

Conservation Practices Virtual Education Series

Join Eastern Shore Land Conservancy for a virtual education experience featuring resources from a variety of groups and organizations! To ensure the health and safety of participants, this event will now be held entirely online; conservation content and videos will be sent out in February to all registrants. Attendees will be able to learn from the following organizations: Natural Resources Conservation Service, Maryland Department of Agriculture, Natural Lands Project, ShoreRivers, Envision the Choptank, Ducks Unlimited, and The Nature Conservancy. SRLT Plans Hike to Celebrate Maryland Day

Join Scenic Rivers Land Trust staff for an in-person guided hike of the conserved Contee Farm portion of the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center in Edgewater on Saturday, March 26. Learn the history of the land and take in spectacular views of forest, farmland, and the Rhode River. This event is free, but registration is required and space is limited. Learn more.

Take a Hike with HLT in 2022

Harford Land Trust challenges you to Take a Hike every month in 2022. This is a do-it-yourself challenge and promotes the appreciation and active use of trails, parks, and waterways in Harford County. Register for an individual or family Take a Hike package. Participants who complete 12 hikes in 2022 and turn in their hiking log are entered to win a grand prize drawing. Registrants will be invited to join HLT on exclusive guided hikes within 2022.
