MET Staff Volunteers with Blue Water Baltimore
In November, MET staff volunteered with Blue Water Baltimore, a non-profit leader working with Baltimore residents to restore water quality in the city’s streams, rivers and harbor. MET joined volunteers from Under Armour, The National Aquarium, and local citizens to plant street trees in Baltimore’s Cherry Hill neighborhood. Seven teams of 3 volunteers each planted 20 trees along neighborhood sidewalks.

Land Trust Roundtable Success
On November 9, Maryland Environmental Trust hosted its third virtual Land Trust Roundtable, "Beer, Brides, Brawls and Brussel Sprouts - Part 2!". Forty-four representatives from Maryland land trusts, governmental agencies, and other conservation partners joined the event for an interactive panel discussion about limited commercial activities on protected lands, with each panelist providing background and policy from each of their respective organizations.

Stream and Wetlands Restoration Workshop Held in Catoctin and Antietam Watersheds
On October 28, a stream and wetlands restoration workshop was held for landowners in the Catoctin Creek and Antietam Creek watersheds in western Maryland. The event was hosted by MET, Catoctin Land Trust, Ecotone, and The Land Group, and held at the Fox Haven Farm in Jefferson, Maryland. Property owners were presented with opportunities to restore and enhance waterways on their properties. MET stewardship planner Josette Markline spoke about MET's support for these types of projects being pursued by owners of conservation easement properties.

Holiday Green Sales & Craft Workshop
December 3 & 4, 2021
Lower Shore Land Trust will be selling holiday greens at Snow Hill's First Friday celebration on December 3 through the Rotary Club's Holiday Market at the Old Firehouse (216 W. Green Street, Snow Hill, MD 21863) 12pm-8pm, and at the Lower Shore Land Trust office (100 River Street, Snow Hill, MD 21863) on Saturday, December 4 from 10am-2pm. Also on Saturday, Lower Shore Land Trust invites you to join them for an Open House where you and your children can create holiday ornaments and cards for using natural treasures from the land and waterways around us. ACLT'S Volksmarch* & 35th Anniversary Celebration

*A Volksmarch (people’s march or walk) is a non-competitive, organized hike that encourages people to connect with nature and each other.
American Chestnut Land Trust invites members and supporters to gather friends and family for an inaugural hike on the new Holly Hill Trail. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED! Registration includes an optional lunch and a hand-made commemorative souvenir ornament. Learn more.

Annual Robert Burns Supper
January 21, 2022
Cecil Land Trust presents the 4th Annual Robert Burns Supper on January 21, 2022 in Elkton, MD. The event includes a traditional Scottish dinner and entertainment. Charlie Zahm will be the entertainment and MC for the evening. He will be joined by Fiddler Tad Marks, Scottish Bagpipers and dancers. Tickets are limited and reservations are required. Learn more.
