Self-guided Winter Hikes
Kick the winter blues with a hike at Fair Hill! Check out the information below about the two self-guided hikes we are hosting in the coming weeks.
Our First Day Hike is available for the weekend of Jan. 1-3. Be sure to pick up your "I hiked" participation stickers at the parking lot bulletin board!

Carpentry of Fair Hill Self-Guided Hike Available December 11-31, 2020 South Appleton (Lot #5): 2000 Appleton Road, Elkton, MD 21921
See examples of woodworking and carving, both old and new, along the road to the old historic Scotts Saw Mill. Hike route is approximately 3.5 miles. See trail map.

First Day Self-Guided Hike Available January 1-3, 2021 North Appleton (Lot #3): 2941 Appleton Road, Elkton, MD 21921
Join us the first weekend of the new year for an approximately 5-mile self-guided hike through Fair Hill NRMA. See trail map.

Hikes are free, but regular park service charges apply ($3 per vehicle for Maryland residents; $5 for out-of-state visitors). Please dress for the weather/activity, wear sunscreen and insect repellent, bring plenty of water and snacks, and check for ticks.

 Annual Pass Available for Purchase $75 for Marylanders; $100 for out-of-state visitors
Our annual State Parks and Trails Passport grants unlimited day-use admission and boat launching at state parks, and a 10 percent discount on state-operated concessions and boat rentals.
To enhance convenience and value, this year's pass will arrive in a self-contained packet with a detachable hang-tag, and will be valid for a full year from the month of purchase.
Our network of 75 state parks include more than 900 miles of trails for biking, hiking and horseback riding, as well as unique water access and camping facilities.
