Given the rapidly evolving coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, all events and activities at Patapsco Valley State Park have been cancelled through April. This includes hikes, volunteer events, programs, and Family Fun Day.


What else do you need to know? 

  • We are currently operating with only emergency essential staff. If you have questions for us please email patapsco.statepark@maryland.gov, as some other accounts are not currently being monitored. 
  • All campground and shelter reservations are canceled through May 11. If you have a reservation you will be contacted by email or phone call.
  • All playgrounds are closed.
  • Water fountains have not yet been turned on for the season.
  • We are not operating the ranger stations, nature centers or headquarter buildings.
  • Please pay at the honor box. 
  • Not all of our restrooms have been opened for the season.
  • Maps will not be available. Please download them from our website.

Parks remain open! What can you still do? 

  • Hit the trails (small groups only!)
  • Take amazing photos as spring bursts into bloom (DNR photo contest is open)
  • Nature journal
  • Help to beautify outdoor spaces by picking up litter
  • Enjoy the fantastic weather

Unless otherwise noted, events are held rain or shine, free and fun for all ages; donations are always welcome. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

Dress for the weather/activity, wear sunscreen and insect repellent, bring plenty of water and snacks, and remember to check for ticks.

Annual Pass Available for Purchase
$75 for Marylanders; $100 for out-of-state visitors

Our annual State Parks and Trails Passport grants unlimited day-use admission and boat launching at state parks, and a 10 percent discount on state-operated concessions and boat rentals. 

To enhance convenience and value, this year's pass will arrive in a self-contained packet with a detachable hang-tag, and will be valid for a full year from the month of purchase. 

Our network of 75 state parks include more than 900 miles of trails for biking, hiking and horseback riding, as well as unique water access and camping facilities.
