DATE CHANGE: Next hydrilla treatment scheduled for July 24

The third of four scheduled Deep Creek Lake hydrilla herbicide treatments has been rescheduled to Wednesday, July 24. This date change is due to positive monitoring results. Treatment dates are always subject to change due to weather conditions.

During the treatment process, boaters are asked to stay clear of the treatment boat while it is underway so that the proper dosage of herbicide can be administered. Additionally, dive teams will be on the lake periodically throughout the summer, with divers in the water monitoring the hydrilla emergence and response to the herbicide. If you see red and white dive flags, please stay at least 100 feet away as divers are in the water.

Follow-up emails will notify you of any changes to the proposed date(s). We will provide as much advance notice as possible but please understand that changes can be made up to the last minute due to unforeseen circumstances and changing weather conditions.

2019 Hydrilla Treatment Locations

Affected areas include but are not limited to the following locations: Arrowhead Cove, Back Bay Cove, Green Glade Cove and Green Glade Club Cove, Hickory Ridge Cove, the shoreline adjacent to and across from the Turkey Neck Yacht Club, a small area at the entrance to Pawn Run and Penn Cove, the entrance to Blakeslee Cove, and another small area just to the east of Poland Run Cove.
