Maryland Was Made for Great Outdoors Month

June marks the official start of summer -- although it feels like it really began weeks ago -- and June also marks National Great Outdoors Month. While this is a national celebration, no one does outdoors better than Maryland! 

Our goal is to allow everyone to experience recreational opportunities and to connect all people with nature. Read more.

The Maryland Park Service is a finalist for the 2019 National Gold Medal Awards for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management!

“We are thrilled to be in the running for the Gold Medal,” said Maryland Park Service Superintendent Nita Settina. “To be considered one of the best state park agencies in the country is a great honor."
