Events are free unless otherwise noted; donations always welcome. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
Reminders: Dress for the weather/activity, wear sunscreen and insect repellant, bring plenty of water and snacks, and remember to check for ticks.

June 29: Weed or Wildflower 9-10:30 a.m. at the Native Plant Garden (Shine only)
Bring your work gloves, kneeling pads, weeding tools and some elbow grease to help remove unwanted plants from our native garden!

June 30: Exploring the Language of Nature 4 p.m. at the Lake House (Shine only)
On this 45-minute walk, volunteer naturalist Jack Slocomb will guide you through a discovery process designed to create a deep sense of connection with nature. Appropriate for ages 5 and up.

June 30: Owl Prowl 8 p.m. at the Lake House (Shine only)
During this fascinating guided hike, you're invited to venture into the forest by light of the moon and listen for owls native to the park. Please bring a flashlight.

July 1: History Hike 3 p.m. at the Lake House (Shine only)
On this easy stroll, a naturalist will discuss the history of the area as a 19th-century industrial community, a Civilian Conservation Corps camp and a state park.

July 4: Fishing for Fun 1 p.m. at the Lake House (Shine only)
July 4 is a license-free fishing day! In an informal how-to class, Ranger Lewis will provide instruction on basic techniques for anglers of all ages and skills. Limited bait and gear will be available. Free of charge.

July 5: Nature Bingo 1 p.m. at the Nature Center (Rain or shine)
Families get to explore the park in search of native plants and animals. Complete a row of boxes to win a prize!

July 6: Old-Time Jam 6:30-9 p.m. at the Lake House (Rain or shine)
Musicians and listeners of all ages are invited to share and enjoy traditional “old-timey” music. Snacks and gifts will be available for purchase.

July 7: Greg Latta Concert 7 p.m. at the Lake House (Rain or shine)
Proficient on more than 15 instruments, Latta is an award-winning singer/songwriter.
He will perform Appalachian, Irish, old-time and traditional music.
