 Sept. 14: History and Landscape of North Point 5:30 p.m. at the North Point State Battlefield
This was once the location where American soldiers stood firm against British advancement in defense of Baltimore. Join naturalists for a peaceful reflection on these hallowed grounds to learn about the battle and the restored habitat.

 Sept. 14: Owl Prowl 7 p.m. at Jerusalem Mill
Owls eat all of their prey, even their hair and bones! Unable to digest it all, they regurgitate them in compact pellets. Using forceps, we will become scientists and dissect these pellets ourselves. Then off on a quiet hike to listen for these hunters.

 Sept. 15: Monarch Butterfly Release 6 p.m. in the Hammerman Area
Enjoy watching the flight of freshly emerged butterflies!
You will be able to hold them and take photos before they fly away while a naturalist discusses their life cycle and migration, as well as their habitat and breeding locations. Tagging will also be demonstrated.
$3 per car for residents; $5 per car for nonresidents.

 Sept. 16: Birdwatching 7 a.m. at Days Cove Area
Join birders from the Harford Bird Club as we search for fall migrants! The area is only open to the public during special programs, so the opportunities are spectacular. Please bring your own binoculars or share a pair of ours. Field guides available to assist in identifying species.

 Sept. 16: Twilight Paddle 7 p.m. at Days Cove Area
Explore this scenic area and experience the marshlands at night! Individuals must be at least 12 years old to participate in this 2.4-mile paddle. Participation is limited to 24 people, so please register via email. $10/person.

 Sept. 22: Autumn Equinox Hike 4:30 p.m. at the Big Falls Parking Area
Celebrate fall by participating in a ranger-led hike. Take in a deep breath of crisp, autumn air as we head out for a 3 -mile moderate hike on the Gunpowder South Trail. Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and bring water.

 Sept. 30: Guided Hike to Raven Rock Falls 10 a.m. at the York Road Parking Lot
Enjoy the weather by joining park naturalists for a guided hike. This 2.5-mile, moderate hike, which will take participants past Raven Rock Falls. Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and bring water.

Gunpowder Falls State Park also manages Hart-Miller Island and North Point state parks, and the Torrey C. Brown Rail Trail.
