Join park staff in partnership with Healthy Parks, Healthy People for a noncompetitive pickup game. Please wear running shoes or sneakers.

Sept. 1: Old-Time Jam 6:30 p.m. at the Lake House (Rain or shine)
Musicians and listeners of all ages are invited to share and enjoy traditional “old-timey” music. Snacks and gifts will be available for purchase.

Sept. 2: Exploring the Language of Nature 6 p.m. at the Lake House (Shine only)
On this 45-minute walk, volunteer naturalist Jack Slocomb will guide you through a discovery process designed to create a deep sense of connection with nature.
You'll be exposed to native plants and animals and will learn the indicators of various natural habitats.
This activity is suited for ages 5 and up. Children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Dress for hiking and bring a bottle of water.

Sept. 2: The Art of Blacksmithing 7 p.m. outside the Lake House (Shine only)
Local metal sculptor and blacksmith, Kenny Braitman, will conduct hands-on demonstrations and instruction on the unique art of sculpting metal.

Sept. 3: Crosscut Saw Competition 1 p.m. outside the Lake House (Shine only)
Put your lumberjack skills to the test during a friendly two-person cross-cut saw competition. Families will have the opportunity to learn about some of the early tools and tricks that the Civilian Conservation Corps used to construct log cabins and other structures.
