Subject: Notification of the Availability of Unemployment Insurance Compensation to Employees

Dear Maryland Employer,

The Maryland Department of Labor’s Division of Unemployment Insurance is requiring employers to provide a notification to employees at the time the employee separates from employment.  This notice will inform the employee of the availability of unemployment insurance compensation.  This requirement will help provide information to individuals about unemployment insurance benefits when it is most needed.

Included below is a letter that you can utilize to provide notification of the availability of unemployment insurance compensation to employees.  This notification must be provided to each employee when that employee separates from employment.  Also included is language for a text message if you wish to provide the notification by text message.  Message and data rates may apply.  We assume no responsibility for charges incurred.
