MDH Structural Racism Requirement
As of April 1, 2026, MDH through the Minority Health and Health Disparities (MHHD) office is requiring another one-time training attestation on Structural Racism. This is an expansion of the one-time Implicit Bias requirement. It is a NEW 2025 Legislative Requirement for all Health Occupation Board licenses.
- Although the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners did not initiate this requirement, it must ensure that all licensed social workers in Maryland complete the training.

- When you complete your online renewal application, you will check the box at the end of the application to attest to the one-time completion of the course.
The Board is dedicated to ensuring all licensees stay updated on renewal requirements and regulatory changes. While we do not draft the legislation, we must oversee regulations and ensure compliance. Sharing and communicating changes can be daunting.
