Field Trip to Materials Recovery Facility (MRF)
Our colleagues at Baltimore County provided a tour of the Materials Recovery Facility to DGS staff and GPC members. A MRF is a facility that receives, sorts and prepares recyclable materials for use in new products. The group got a chance to see the automated sorting equipment which includes 86 conveyor belts, six sorting screens, three optical sorters and two balers.
A special thanks to Richard Keller and Trevor Hummel for organizing this great tour!
