The HVAC Specification, originally published in 2020, and revised in August 2021 includes updated language and new appendices for ease of use.

The Maryland Green Purchasing Committee (GPC) was awarded an Environmental Sustainability Leadership Award in the Public Sector category by the Northeast Recycling Council (NERC).
The Committee "was selected from among several other applications due to its notable achievements in purchasing products with post-consumer content, as well as promoting their purchase within the state. Their educational programs and resources are exemplary and it is an honor to present them with this award.” said NERC Executive Director Lynn Rubinstein.
Maryland, through the Committee, also received two awards in recognition of its leadership in the procurement of sustainable electronics and Information Technology (IT) from the State Electronics Challenge and the Global Electronics Council.

The procurement of Electric Vehicles is an important part of Maryland's climate action strategy. To support the new vehicles, the DGS Office of Energy and Sustainability is ramping up EV charging infrastructure and has welcomed two new staff to support programmatic needs. |

Korin Sharp joined on September 15th as our new EV Program Coordinator. Korin will help coordinate all of the moving parts across this newly established program, including establishing Statewide policies, providing training and outreach to agencies, pursuing funding opportunities, and tracking the portfolio of projects.
Korin has an MBA, impressive leadership experience, and experience working with an EV charging program with an electric utility in Detroit.

Mehmet Sahbaz started on September 8th as our new EV Project Manager/Engineer. In this role, Mehmet will oversee utility install EV charging station projects as well as small procurement construction projects. We will now have one dedicated Project Manager to work with State agencies and get EV chargers installed.
Mehmet is an electrical engineer and brings a wealth of experience managing construction projects.
