Comptroller Franchot will make stops in Eastern Baltimore County today, beginning at Middle River Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company to tour the antiquated facility and talk with station leadership about their efforts to raise money for a new headquarters to meet the growing needs of the community. The Comptroller will honor the service and dedication of MRVFR members by presenting a proclamation to President Bill Connelly and Chief Dan Mroz.
Nest, Mr. Franchot will visit Coffman’s Snack Bar, where he will present a proclamation to owner Stephanie Coffman for 81 years of good food, fair prices and quality service. The small eatery, which was started by Wiley Ray Coffman in 1941 as Coffman's Barrel, remains in the same location today and is on its third generation of family ownership.
The final stop will be at the Double T Diner in White Marsh to issue a certificate celebrating 25 years of business success to owners Katarina, George and Eleni Lagadinos, and family members John and Tommy Korologos. The family-run business, one of eight Double T locations across the Baltimore area, has been operating at the corner of Pulaski Highway and Ebenezer Road since 1997.
