Comptroller Franchot will spend Tuesday in Baltimore County, beginning with the presentation of the 2021 William Donald Schaefer Helping People Award for Baltimore County to Joseph Benn. The Windsor Mill barbershop owner mentors at-risk youth, provides stable jobs, apprenticeships, school supplies, clothing, food and invaluable guidance to help them live quality, independent lives.
Next, Beth Rheingold, president of the Greater Baltimore Chamber of Commerce, will host a small business roundtable where attendees will share their concerns about the current economic environment and how they've dealt with — and are dealing with — the impact of COVID-19.
The Comptroller will then head to The Tot Spot, a children's clothing and equipment consignment shop in Owings Mills. He will present a proclamation to owner Heidi Koelbel for selling affordable wares to local customers and buying their gently-used clothing for 17 years.
Finally, Mr. Franchot will head to Towson University to guest speak in Dr. Richard Vatz's political persuasion class, which hosts a number of past and present elected officials and local media figures every semester.
