Comptroller Franchot on Friday afternoon will help present a $1,000 scholarship to the winner of the Shop Maryland Tax-Free Week Scholarship Contest.
The winning student submitted an Instagram video that was picked from a field of entries highlighting the annual tax-free week in August when qualifying articles of clothing and shoes priced under $100 are exempt from the state's six percent sales tax.
