Franchot to Speak Today at Aquarium's 40th Anniversary Event

Shop Maryland Tax-Free Week visit rescheduled for next Monday

WHAT:

Comptroller Franchot will speak this morning at the 40th anniversary of the National Aquarium in Baltimore. Championed by then-Mayor William Donald Schaefer as key to the redevelopment of the Inner Harbor, the facility opened on August 8, 1981, and has become a world-class tourist attraction and aquamarine research center.

National Aquarium President & CEO John Racanelli, Governor Larry Hogan, Senate President Bill Ferguson, Baltimore City Mayor Brandon Scott and Baltimore County Executive John Olszewski will also give remarks.

The Shop Maryland Tax-Free Week news conference at Fells Point Surf Company that was supposed to occur today has been rescheduled for Monday, August 9 at 11 a.m.
