Comptroller Franchot on Wednesday will visit two venerable Baltimore businesses catering to dessert lovers for generations.
His first stop will be at Wockenfuss Candies, a fifth-generation family business that is one of the oldest candy makers in Baltimore. The Comptroller will present current owners Paul Wockenfuss and Janice Wockenfuss-Motter with a proclamation in recognition of manufacturing signature chocolates, truffles and other sweet treats since 1915.
Mr. Franchot then will head to Fenwick Bakery where he will present a proclamation to President/Head Baker Al Meckel and Head Decorator Claudette Wilson, who have owned the business since the mid 1990s. Known for their signature peach cake, doughnuts and pies, Fenwick has been satisfying the sweet tooth of customers sinceĀ 1913.
