Maryland Comptroller to Reopen Frederick and Upper Marlboro Branch Offices July 21
Taxpayers must make an appointment to visit any branch office
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (July 20, 2020) - Comptroller Peter Franchot today announced that two more branch offices will reopen Tuesday, July 21, by appointment only. The reopening of the Frederick and Upper Marlboro offices, which are located within county buildings previously closed to the public, brings to 11 the number of agency satellite offices that are open with limited staff adhering to state and federal health guidelines.
Due to the continued closure to the public of the State Center office complex, the Baltimore Office is the only remaining branch location closed.
All branch offices initially closed on March 19 to protect public health in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. On June 1, nine Comptroller of Maryland branch offices reopened with employees working on rotating schedules, practicing social distancing and wearing masks.
Any taxpayer who needs to visit a branch office must schedule an appointment in advance. Visitors to branch offices must follow all mask and social distancing requirements. No walk-in service will be provided. Offices will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
“Our employees at our Frederick and Upper Marlboro offices are ready to provide outstanding customer service to taxpayers who cannot find their answers online or cannot email or call to address their needs,” Comptroller Franchot said.
