This afternoon, Mr. Franchot continues his efforts to promote the upcoming Shop Maryland Energy Weekend with a stop at Appliance Distributors Unlimited in Linthicum. There, the Comptroller will present a proclamation to company president Linda Oliff Rohleder for offering a vast selection of appliances to contractors and homeowners since 1982.
During Shop Maryland Energy Weekend, which runs from Feb. 15-17, consumers will be exempt from paying the state's 6 percent sales tax on qualifying products, including air conditioners, washers and dryers, standard-size refrigerators and other appliances that bear the ENERGY STAR logo.
