CANCELLED: Comptroller To Spend Tuesday In Catonsville's "Music City" Promoting Shop Maryland For The Holidays

Catonsville Gourmet to be recognized for oyster shell recycling

WHO:

Comptroller Peter Franchot

WHAT:

Mr. Franchot will spend Tuesday in Catonsville, beginning at Catonsville Gourmet where he will present a proclamation to owners Craig and Cristina Rinkerman, honoring their participation in the Shell Recycling Alliance. Oyster shell recycling is critical to the health of the Chesapeake Bay and can earn individuals and business owners a tax credit.

Next, he will meet with the Higgins family at Bill's Music to congratulate them on more than 50 years of providing lessons, rehearsal space and a wealth of new and used instruments. This family-owned and operated business has served music lovers since 1965.

The Comptroller next stops at Trax on Wax to present a proclamation to owner Gary Gebler for the store's 10th anniversary. Gebler sells new and vintage vinyl in his one-of-a-kind shop with a mobile pop-up shop for festivals and special events.

Finally, Mr. Franchot heads to Appalachian Bluegrass, Music City's oldest music shop. The Knode family opened the store in 1960 and has become nationally recognized for quality acoustic repairs and one of the largest selections of bluegrass instruments in the state.
