February 16-18, 2019 is SHOP MD Energy Tax Free weekend. Marylanders are exempt from paying the state's 6 percent sales tax on qualifying ENERGY STAR Appliances. It's time to go green and keep a little green in your pocket! Click here for a list of eligible items.

The recent federal government shutdown affected an estimated 172,000 Maryland residents, resulting in $778 million in lost wages, and another shutdown may be on the horizon. If you have been impacted and need assistance, contact the Comptroller's Ombudsman's office by sending them an email or calling 410-260-4020. 


Swearing In

Peter Franchot Sworn In for Fourth Term

On January 28th, Comptroller Peter Franchot took the oath of office to begin his fourth term as Maryland's 33rd Comptroller. He pledged to safeguard taxpayers’ money, and champion financial literacy goals for Maryland students.
