County Government Planned Outage this Weekend for Power Grid Update
Westminster, MD, Thursday, November 6, 2025 – Carroll County’s Department of Information Technology (CCIT) is transitioning county systems to a new Universal Power Supply (UPS) this Saturday and Sunday, November 8th and 9th. While the roll over is expected to go without difficulty, CCIT is informing the public of possible intermittent internet/network disruptions for county services during an anticipated two-hour window beginning at 6:30 am through 8:30 am on Saturday, November 8th.
The following public services may be impacted, and residents are encouraged to check the county website for updates.
- Credit card acceptance at Northern Landfill may be impacted. Please be prepared to pay with cash on Saturday, November 8th.
- Online payment systems include permits and inspections, and tax payments.
CCIT is anticipating a smooth launch without service interruption. If any services do go offline, it will only be for a short period of time. Everyone’s patience and understanding are appreciated.
