County Government Planned Outage this Weekend for Power Grid Update

Westminster, MD, Thursday, November 6, 2025 – Carroll County’s Department of Information Technology (CCIT) is transitioning county systems to a new Universal Power Supply (UPS) this Saturday and Sunday, November 8^th and 9^th.  While the roll over is expected to go without difficulty, CCIT is informing the public of possible intermittent internet/network disruptions for county services during an anticipated two-hour window beginning at 6:30 am through 8:30 am on Saturday, November 8^th. 

The following public services may be impacted, and residents are encouraged to check the county website for updates.

• Credit card acceptance at Northern Landfill may be impacted. Please be prepared to pay with cash on Saturday, November 8^th.
• Online payment systems include permits and inspections, and tax payments.

CCIT is anticipating a smooth launch without service interruption.  If any services do go offline, it will only be for a short period of time. Everyone’s patience and understanding are appreciated.
